Natalie Lande - Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, Piano

Natalie Lande is a Chicago-based performer, educator and composer. Beginning with piano at the age of 4, she has been a musician for most of her life. She has a bachelor’s degree in jazz saxophone performance from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana (2012), and a masters degree in jazz composition from DePaul University (2014).

Natalie’s music as a saxophonist and woodwind specialist has taken her all over the USA, Asia and South America. She actively performs in ensembles within the genres of jazz, classical, pop, soul, hip hop, Afrobeat, and many styles of Latin music, and much more. In 2012, Natalie was a 2nd place winner of the prestigious jazz improvisation competition put on by the Luminarts Cultural Foundation in Chicago. In 2014, she won the completion, earning her a Jazz Fellowship title. Since then, She has released an album of her own and has performed with major acts including The Temptations, The Four Tops, John Legend and Major Lazer.

Natalie is equally as passionate as an educator as she is a performer. She has been teaching private saxophone, piano, flute and clarinet lessons to students of all levels and ages for over 10 years. She also travels to schools and gives masterclasses. She has had the honor of being chosen to direct one of the ILMEA district jazz ensembles for their fall 2019 festival.
