The Rajiv Halim Quintet performs regularly in the greater Chicagoland area and they recorded and released Rajiv’s debut album, “Foundation,” in August 2015. You can hear “Foundation” on many digital stores on the internet.

Other artists/groups that Rajiv has performed or recorded with include: Kids These Days (KTD), Chance The Rapper, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Ernie Watts, Wess “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Cory Henry, Curtis Lundy, Antonio Hart, Lisa Henry, Von Freeman, Mike Stern, Crucial Conflict, Martha Reeves, Bob Mintzer, The Four Tops, Ernest Dawkins, Maurice Brown, Corey Wilkes, Marquis Hill, Ron Haynes, Robert "Baabe" Irving III, and many others.

Internationally, Rajiv has performed in Ottawa, ON, Canada with KTD; in Poznan, Poland at the “Made in Chicago” festival in both 2011 and 2016; in Belize at The Bliss Institute for Performing Arts; and in Taichung City, Taiwan at the 2014 Taichung Jazz Festival. Locally, Rajiv has also performed at the 2013, 2014, and 2015 Chicago Jazz Festivals.

Rajiv has a passion for teaching that stems from all of the great musicians that he has had the privilege to study under. They took the time to mentor him at every level he has been at in development, and therefore Rajiv feels that he must give back the knowledge he has gained, and continues to gain, to every student and music appreciator that he comes in contact with. In addition to ear training and understanding theory, Rajiv focuses on technique in lessons, as he sees removing technical barriers as being the path to fun, free, and expressive playing and improvising, regardless of what style of improvising his students may be interested in.
